Here are a few pictures from Halloween.  We went to the Harvest Carnival at our church Evergreen Community Church in Bloomington.

Sarah was a roll of linoleum and I was a roll of carpet
Together we were the Remnants.
It was just some stuff I had lying around the house. ;)

Fun in the park

The girls and I went to the park while mommy had some girl time scrap booking.  We had so much fun taking these.  This was less than a week before Josiah was born.  September 25th.

I just love her smile!

This was taken September 28th 2010 two days before Josiah was born!

We're Back from Iowa

The trip to Iowa was pretty good.  We saw Sarah's relatives from New Jersey below is her sister on the left and her cousin on the right and of course the token cute kids Hannah and Ada.

Below is more of her family.
Saturday was a nice day of hanging with family eating and more hanging out.  Sunday morning started with Ada throwing up at 3am.  We are pretty sure she just had too much egg or something to do with what she ate.  Some of you may know that she has had a sensitivity to egg that causes vomiting and out the other end as well. Eeeww!  She is doing much better today though.
Well when we got home Sunday night we found our house getting taken over by plants.  They just started growing out of weird places like the sink.

Well ok the plant was small but it did get started in the drain.  I guess that means we should actually clean the sink once in a while.
Well we got home ok and Monday I took off because we got home kinda late and we all were beat.  So Monday we had a little fun Hannah made a "forest" out of the blankets and the coffee table and Ada his inside.

Life's ups and downs

We are so happy to have our little guy with us.  He is such a blessing to us already.  The girls ask in the morning, "Where's baby Josiah?"  They are so excited to be big sisters.
Then yesterday morning Sarah's grandma passed away.  She had Alzheimer's but this was still very unexpected.  She had been doing fine considering.  I don't know all the circumstance around it but it seemed very out of the blue to me.
If I could ask those that read this for prayer I would appreciate the help.  You could pray that God would give show Himself through this, help me to be a strong support for Sarah, help Sarah to keep healthy and recover quickly from the delivery and that she would not over do it this weekend.
The funeral is on Saturday in Cedar Rapids Iowa so we will be travelling Friday.
Life really has it's ups ad downs but I know I can rejoice in my lord and savior Jesus Christ.  I know that my eternity is secure.  If it weren't for that I don't know what I would do.  I know that through His strength I can be there for Sarah even when I am week and tired.  I know she needs me right now more than I need myself so I will rest in the Lord.

Josiah's birth

As I said Thursday the labor was intense.  That was mostly the last two hours.  For the first hour and a half Sarah wasn't even sure she was in labor because she had contractions on Monday that were very similar.  But when I got out of the shower she knew she was in labor because now they were coming on top of each other and were more intense.
I called my dad to come to take care of Hannah and Ada since it was 6:00 in the morning.  As soon as he got to our home we left for the hospital.
6:15 her water broke for sure.  We think it may have broke earlier but were not sure.  I called the midwife and told her we are packing to go to the hospital.
When we arrived at the hospital at 7:20 and they had no labor/delivery rooms open so we had to make due in the C-section room.  It was a little weird but it worked this baby was coming no matter where we were!  7:59 Josiah was born.  Wow it was fast but now we were holding our baby in our arms!
Hannah and Ada came to visit around 7:30pm on Thursday.  They love holding their baby brother.  Ada, when told all done it is Hannah's turn said "No, my baby and hugged him closer."  Hannah and Ada both love to help holding him and giving him kisses.

Hello

Welcome.  This is the first blog I have attempted to write.  I don't really like writing, but I have been doing it more and more as I get older as I see the importance of recording memories.  Also I see how it is easier for me to express what I am thinking through the written word.  I believe that pictures can grab the emotions of moment better than anything.  You can fake what is going on deep inside but the eyes always tell the truth.
My name is Doug I am married to an amazing and beautiful woman.  Sarah and I have been together since high school.  We now have two wonderful girls Hannah who is three and Ada who is turning two in a month.  We are also expecting a baby boy any day now!  The official due date is October 1.

Here is my wonderful wife and her baby belly.
